Big Ben..
My first Krispy Creme...
Shopping on a rainy day...
Ideally..
In reality...
London Eye...
Mr. Chef :)
Darling's XO fried rice!!
Ermm.. I was forced... really..
Catching a musical: Phantom of the Opera
My farewell dinner. I made pineapple fried rice, curry chicken, baked cod fish and long beans with egg with the help of King and Wenya while Yut prepared hot soup. It was a disaster as I almost burnt down King's apartment while making the soup. :p
King, me, Leo, Wenya & Yut.
If you visit London, there's one thing you sure cant miss and that's Fish & Chips. It has been my all-time favourite since young and I took the opportunity to try Britain's original.. King & I flipped the lonely planet till we found one near-by. *Recommended*
It wasnt really fantastic, but both King & I felt that it was value for money. Hyde Park...
Harrods...
James Bond
On board London Eye..
King's best shot.. (Ahem, I was the photographer, of course!)
Tower of London.. I took this shot when I was on my way back to King's apartment after crashing his class in the morning. At first, It seems like a bad shot. But the more I look at it, the more I admire it.. Doesnt it remind you of the fairy tales?
King sent me to the airport in a cab. 40 pounds. We had our dinner at this very nice restaurant (which I forgot the name).

10 things I learnt about London!

  1. Roads are built around buildings, not the other way round.
  2. Always keep to your right when taking the escalator unless overtaking. They might get pissed!
  3. Londoners walk faster than Singaporeans. At least faster than me!
  4. Maybe because they love to walk!
  5. And that explains their slim long legs. (in general)
  6. Everything is expensive, except when shopping at Primark? & eating at King's apartment (cos' everything is free! ;p) .
  7. Asians who live in London are not as conservative.
  8. Nightlife during weekends is very VERY lively! So lively that you have to be on the guest list to enter a club. Unless you stand outside and wait. King & his friends named it "one-night-stand".
  9. London is a cold & wet place to live in: Cold - good place to hibernate at night, wet -getting a jacket with a hood is the best buy of the day.
  10. London makes King learn how to manage life on his own. (Proud of him! *wink*)

Jet Lag..

I couldnt sleep last night, tossing and turning in bed even thought it was 345am.. I did not know how much time I took to doze off in bed. But before I knew it, my alarm went off. I dragged myself up from bed, thinking it's gonne be fine. It was all good in the morning at ORQ, I was fresh and ready to work, till after lunch at Tuas. It was so terrible I had to explain my drousy state to my colleagues. I hope I didnt leave a bad impression. Time passes extremely slow, I had to make several trips to the toilet just to take some naps. It only got better at ard 5pm when we are leaving work at 6pm! I'm gonna sleep early tonight, I dont care...

My first 2 days in London..

Finally, I'm in London now, King right beside me, reading the news as usual.
-
My previous work engagement has just ended and here I am enjoying my holiday. It's probably not well-deserved as I have just started work, not yet passed probation period. But how else? I need to see King! I left work on Friday, uneased. Like I'm departing without completing my work, yet left a big lump of shit for them to clear. Perhaps there was a mis-fit between me and the job, or I was not well-trained in the profession yet, I feel my 3 years in NTU has just gone to waste. Things that I learnt seem to be giving up on me. Or did I just give up on myself long before I knew it. I am such a failure..
-
Nevertheless, seeing King made me realise life isnt so bad after all. The day I stepped out of the custom in Heathrow Airport; King smiling at me, no words could describe my feelings..
***
King planned a trip for me down to Stonehenge and Bath with his friends. It was indeed pretty, but I was too dazed out to enjoy the trip fully.
According to some reserach, Stonehenge is believed to be a sacred place for worship, built by people in the Stone Age. If all stones were not stolen/damaged, we probably cant see the interior. Stones were placed in such a manner that activities within the stones were hidden. Amazing, isnt it??

We also visited the Roman Bath. Expensive entrance fee, but something to see and ponder about...

Today, King brought me on a tour to Camden Town for shopping, then Leicester Square (which was London's China Town) for lunch, Covent garden for dessert, and sightseeing around the city areas.

That's somewhere near king's apartment. It was a long stretch of walkway which you dread to walk after a long day in the cold and question starts to pop in your head: How much longer do I need to walk???

There was also a fantastic cookie shop that cant be missed. I made space for it even though I was full after lunch.. BEN's COOKIES! There were really good even though I arent such a good fan of soft cookies. You can imagine. I even got motivated to start a chain in Singapore!

We even went Tate Mesuem to knock some arty farty sense out of us.

The day ended with a stroll along the Thames River. It was shivery cold when the wind blows. But the scenery was breath-takingly pretty and romantic..

Thanks, for the wonderful time, Darling!
