Auditing a hotel

The best thing about auditing a hotel is the chance to use their posh toilets. I've never failed to walk into it and spend some time inside when I passed by one, although I don't really need the loo.

Working in a hotel has always been a dream to me since secondary school days. I chose an Acccountancy degree over Hospitality because my Dad was paranoid about how SARS has affected that industry during that period. Little did I know that getting an Accountancy degree can get me a gimpse of this industry. *HOORAY!*

Some time before the work starts, I heard negative comments about it. The long working hours would be one detering factor. Yes, I would agree. But considering how much I like to see how this industry works, I'm actually enjoying myself as I walk across the lobby to get to places. Everyone smiles as you. I like that feeling, man! It makes me forget what long hours mean.

So, now that I'm 3 days through the engagement, I derived at one conclusion: If I wish to work in a hotel, go for the management level positions!

Taking examinations in a foreign country

It's King's first paper in LSE today. It's the first time I see him so nervous, and it's the first time I felt so helpless.

Where is that confidence he used to possess, that smart and shrewd expression he used to look at me?

I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN!

Curduroy & Finch

My first visit to Curduroy & Finch was just to laze around with King before he flies off to London. Perhaps due to my grumpiness, our stay at the cafe wasnt a pleasant one.

I wouldn't recommend the food there and the service isnt fantastic, but I like its ambience. The perfect place to spend your Sunday afternoon, the laid-back way. Anyway, who needs great service on a lazy Sunday afternoon?

Scones are never a miss during my hi-tea sessions..
We also ordered the hi-tea set which was presented in 3 tiers: cakes, sandwiches and biscuits.
So that explains my 2nd visit to Curduroy & Finch with Guis: Just to laze around on a Sunday afternoon.. But due to some delays here and there, we ended up meeting in the early evening just in time for dinner..
and desserts...
The main purpose of this meet-up was to pass Xin a laptop for her FYP. But we also made use of this opportunity to exchange photos we had accumulated.
In a way, I like looking through the photos together and laughing at how each other looked 3 years ago! I wonder how we would think of each other 3 years later, when we meet to exchange photos again.
Time flies, really.. Certainly!
